Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are you a chain?

A: No, Studio 882 is not a chain, although we do carry some of the most internationally acclaimed furniture brands, such as Baker Furniture, Julian Chichester, and Guy Chaddock. As local residents, we started Studio 882 to help bring a wide range of heirloom-quality furniture styles to the local market. In addition to our well-known brands, we also offer one of a kind handmade furniture and accessories from artisans as local as Kennett Square and as far as Vancouver, Canada. We've spent years cultivating this special collection. For more about the story behind Studio 882, read about us in MainLine Today here.

Q: What is your lead time between ordering a piece and when it is delivered to my home?

A: Studio 882 will sell any item off of our showroom floor, and our white glove delivery team will bring the item into your home in about a week. Because our upholstery and case goods are hand-made to order, lead times can vary between brands, but usually take 6-10 weeks. For example, upholstery is hand sewn and case goods are hand carved and hand finished. However, a broad selection of our occasional furniture and case goods are frequently in stock and can be delivered in 2-3 weeks.

We understand that many of our customers have timing requirements and we'll happily work with you to source the perfect piece that meets these requirements. No matter what you purchase, Studio 882 is in constant contact with our manufacturers, and we will always keep you up-to-date on the status of your order and delivery.

Q: Can your furniture be customized?

A: Yes! Because our furniture is hand-made, the custom possibilities are virtually endless in most cases. For example, we can change wood type and finishes, fabrics, and dimensions. Quoting a custom piece is a complimentary service we offer.

To give you a sense of what we can do, here are some of the custom quotes we've worked on:

  • change the wood finish and vellum color of the Royere 4-Door Low Cabinet
  • remove the tufts from the Lombard Sofa and changed the dimensions
  • transform the Yumi Cocktail Table as a dining table
  • finish the Espana Bunching Chest in red lacquer with gilt leaf detail
  • create a custom headboard inspired by a bed a customer fell in love with in an overseas hotel
  • change the dimensions of the Ward Sectional for an extra-wide chaise

Q: Can you tell me about the quality of your furniture?

A: In a world of domestic mass production and a dizzying array of imports that aren't quite right, when you walk into Studio 882 and feel "refreshed that you've finally found a showroom that's easy to shop", there's a reason. It's the quality of design and craftsmanship behind our brands. We've carefully chosen our furniture lines because of their commitment to the finest materials and time-honored techniques. We carry only true luxury brands who practice hand carving, bench assembling, hand finishing, hand sewing, and more. At Studio 882, we strive to provide you the best value. That means furniture that is so well-designed and well-made it will stand the test of time. Visit our pages regarding craftsmanship and what to consider when buying upholstery
